Test Lead

This important position within the company ensures the company's products are ready to be placed into the hands of our customers. It is crucial to have products that will work as designed and as expected by our customers. The Test Lead will guarantee that POINT's products are being tested adequately and in a timely manner. The Test Lead will not only be involved with product testing but also lead members of the testing group and coordinate and review their day-today activities. Key parts of the position include ability to manage multiple test tasks, (re)prioritize as necessary and keep management regularly updated on testing status and any delays or issues.

This full-time position is based in our Calgary office.

Duties include:

  • Coordinate test activities
  • Work within the existing structured test methodology and suggest areas of improvement
  • Coordinate and supervise test staff
  • Update management on testing status on a regular basis
  • Work with R&D, Marketing and Test groups in various facets as necessary

Qualifications

  • BSc or a diploma in technical field
  • Two to five years supervising staff
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and as such, you maybe required to provide a brief sample of your written work
  • Previous experience in a testing role is beneficial including the test life-cycle
  • Background in Land Survey or Geomatics will be beneficial
  • Excellent PC skills and a solid understanding of the MS Office components including Word, Outlook, .etc.

Junior Geomatics Engineer

As a member of our Technical Services group, you will be responsible for developing test plans, performing product testing & quality assurance and be a valuable resource in the company. You may also be asked to provide technical support to customers including solving problems by investigating the problem thoroughly and determining solutions. This 6-month contract position with the potential to become full-time is based out of our Calgary office.

Qualifications

  • BSc. in Geomatics or a diploma in Surveying (or in the process of obtaining the degree/diploma)

  • Several years industry experience in surveying, using GPS equipment and field survey software

Software Team Lead

This position leads a team of software developer and engineers responsible for the development of software for GPS/GNSS receiver products. As team lead, responsibilities will include project resource allocation and task management for the activities of your development group. Duties will also include requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing and documentation; all stages of the software development process. You will work closely with hardware, system test and product management groups and will contribute to performance appraisals and hiring decisions. Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Geomatics Engineering (or equivalent) is required
  • Work experience in C/C++ software development is required (7+ years)

C++ Software Developer
